Hey ENFP's
Is anyone here a musician?
I'd be curious as to what ENFP music sounds like. I'd imagine, very unique, seeing as we hate fakeness so much. Also it's probably very deep and intense, or at least fresh. So what kind of stuff do you play, and what's your "musical philosophy?" (don't act like you don't have one. I know you take it seriously ) It's a way to communicate emotions and ideas. Don't tell me any of us wouldn't capitalise on that! |

Hm yes i write music...
This song i wrote about 3 years ago. We a were a pretty strange band... singer, e-guitar, and violin, and since we had no drums we named ourselves "drumless". We don't meet anymore sadly, because first we wrote our final exams, then Jörg, the violinist, went to army, now we are all studying... We also once had a keyboarder on board, butit didn't really work out.
It's sad that we don't meet anymore...

The self-composed song, i play e-guitar. Turning around just HAD to be.

Yellowcard "Believe", i play base. Love that song.

Yellowcard "Empty Apartment" with keyboarder^^. Not so good quality though.
Violin was always great. I think i've got a new project: Organize meeting with former members of "Drumless", so that we can meet again^^
Lol we even had a t-shirt each one of us, now that i think of it^^
Oh and btw i now have much better posture than i used to have in those videos. |

Lol. Now i can't edit it. Wanted to say that i also do a lot with note programs... Will post again if i can record some of them with stereo mixer and get them uploaded to my mediafire account...
EDIT: Uploading... finished.

There is one file called dumdumdumdum.mp3 (or something like that) that is orchestra-like and one called band.mp3 in that if i just had a text i would play it with the current band i am in (in which i play base guitar) |

Ahh I can't live without music! The radio is on most of the time, and I play harp myself . Classical, celtic, sometimes blues/jazz, I also play pop sometimes but it's not so challenging , so I rather listen to than play that..
I also have periods that I'm into composing / arranging some piece for harp (pop/classic/orchestra/anything), but I hardly ever finish anything..
My 'musical philosophy'? Of course no faking , but actually I never thought of faking before since it never even crossed my mind.
To me it's all about making musical sentences. Tell your story, take the listeners on a journey. I also think that you should gain enough life-experience before you can really make music. Because: if you never experience anything, then how can you tell a story? When I studied at a Conservatory for a year (classical music, main subject was harp of couse ) I had a period when I got stuck in a rut. At that time I couldn't show my musicality anymore, because I had nothing to tell. But luckily I found the music in me again.
And lately: humor I think it actuallly works very well with classical music. |

http://www.indabamusic.com/people/503628825 This is my little indaba site. I have 5 songs up now that I've recorded. I even have my own themesong Oh and by the way-- HARP!? THAT'S SO COOL And I'm totally like that, I come up with these awesome ideas and bits of songs but I never finish my songs... All of my songs except for one are just splices of things I wrote at totally different times, sometimes when I was in a completely different mood and was going in a whole different direction. Right now I have about 14 unfinished ideas... But you said it well... I also totally try to tell stories in my music, and take people on a journey. Also, I totally love talking about music and stories/poems etc. Now that I write my own, I really really REALLY like feedback. (Nudge. Listen to my music. I want to hear what people think ) |

Music really is everything to me. I can't be alone in a room without some kind of sound. When I moved out of my parents house I bought a surround system so I could place atleast one speeker in every room of my appartment. I play the drums orignially, now also the guitar and some piano. |

I love music and wrote songs for a while but soon dropped it in favor of another hobby. I think my myspace music site is still up... http://www.myspace.com/larissapowers I was never particularly good at it, so I stopped... my limited guitar abilities and overall skills were pretty confining. |

Hi folks. This is my first post on here. My musical philosophy is simply to do what feels instinctually right. This kind of means that my songs are fairly different and i don't really know if they have any kind of over-riding feel. I do generally try to present a story and a strong emotion, but then I've composed some instrumentals this year, too. I think, as far as musicians go, I probably have the least 'vision' for the kind of sound I'm trying to produce. I just refuse to let it be ordinary. Doesn't mean it has any mass appeal though! On that positive note(!), here's my link: http://www.myspace.com/hungrylittlemonkey |

My artistic philosophy has changed from expressing myself to become ambigious, i mean... you need a song/poem, you get it. Kind of motivational. Like you need something to cheer you up, then you have poem x, when you need something for being love you read poem y. Actually, the reader/listener is the person who is expressing themselves by interpreting the poem/song. I am just providing the platform for your mind to take off. (this goes in line with the pattern author->fictional me->content->fictional addressant->reader/listener) |

Hi Monkey - welcome to the forum. I tried to check out your music on myspace, by it's not working for me. I tried it in IE 8 and Safari and no luck unfortunately. From what you say, your music 'sounds' interesting. Hopefully I can hear it someday. |

I play the guitar (albeit poorly), sing, and occasionally write songs.
Music is the one place where I don't have, or want to have, a theory (not that it's wrong to). Besides nature, it's the only place that I get that much needed in the moment feeling. But I will say that I generally prefer the major chords - even if the lyrics are sad (sometimes it takes me years to notice it's really kind of a downer when you break it, um, down). And I like either simply brilliantly honest songs, or songs that are so complex they read new every time you listen. I prefer singers with raw emotion to those that have talent but no soul. Singer songwriter types... But I LOVE a good funk song, there is something primal about them....but I just love to dance!!
My own songs tend to be funny, ironic, or poignant. Or at least that is the intention! |
