http://www.toomanyaborted.com/ Abortion is not a me issue. It’s not a you issue. It’s not a personal issue, nor is it just a woman’s issue. It is a human issue. And today, with over 40% of all black pregnancies ending in induced abortion, it is a human crisis.1 The ‘Endangered Species’ campaign highlights the disproportionate impact of abortion on the black community. The Radiance Foundation has decried abortion’s impact on our entire society, regardless of race, but this particular campaign attempts to dig deeper and focus on abortion in an historical context with real present-day ramifications. This isn’t black versus white or me versus you. It’s the truth versus the lie. The truth is that abortion kills an innocent human life. It’s easier to speak in euphemisms, but the miracle of life is threatened every day by a false ideology that dupes women into believing their very biology is a threat to them. This Birth Control Movement turned Abortion-on-Demand propaganda was a product, in large part, of Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood and an elite American (married to oil tycoon Noah Slee). The perpetuation of the lie of ‘Reproductive Freedom’ has been championed, in particular, by America’s elite (of any race). It was an elitist mentality that forged the pseudoscience of eugenics, that drove America’s race-based segregation laws, developed early and present-day immigration policy (i.e. Immigration Act of 1924) and was the bedrock of the Birth Control now-turned Abortion Industry. According to Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, “we are paying for…an ever increasing, unceasingly spawning class of human beings who never should have been born at all.”2 Her eugenic Birth Control philosophy, to prevent the ‘unfit’, ‘feeble-minded’, ‘poor’ or ‘unwanted’, would have eliminated Abraham Lincoln, George Washington Carver, Rosa Parks, Ben Carson, and Oprah Winfrey…just to name a few. Today, abortion kills more African-Americans, per year, than heart disease, cancer, respiratory disease, accidents, homicides, suicide, and cancer–combined.3 Abortions in the black community occur at 3x the rate of those among the white population and 2x that of all other races combined.4 The truth screams loud and clear–we are killing our very future. |

I has a question about that last article saul. >.> How does that ratio compare to the number of pregnancies....and to the amount of unprotected sex per race? And how many of those abortions are from the same women? I kind of feel like I'm seeing skewed information. I'm just saying....if there are fewer pregnancies for other races that use protection, then of course the percentage of abortions will be lower too. Honestly, I personally wouldn't abort a child....but anti-abortionists scare the crap out of me, so I wouldn't label myself among those that see nothing wrong with violence to achieve their ends. And illegalizing something that desperate women will still seek would only be dangerous. >< Rusty hangers in an alley? |

I don't think there is any way to find accurate information about that. Check out the website. It had an affect on me. There are solid factual points they are making that need to be addressed. Mmyyyyyyyyyyy cupcakes bring all the boys to th' yard...
Hmmm... I never trust pseudo-statistics stated on websites. There might be research out there that backs up those numbers, but the error often lies in the interpretation of a statistic, or taking the numbers out of context. Reminds me of The Vatican wanting to stop the distribution of condoms in Africa, as research carried out by Harvard University found higher rates of HIV/AIDS in areas where condom intervention was greatest. There's no disputing that statistic, but I doubt Harvard said it was a simple cause & effect relationship!
I found an article in Psychology Today called a Field Guide To The Loner, looking at introverts. It's a good insight into our world. |

*There are more African Americans under correctional control today -- in prison or jail, on probation or parole -- than were enslaved in 1850, a decade before the Civil War began.
*As of 2004, more African American men were disenfranchised (due to felon disenfranchisement laws) than in 1870, the year the Fifteenth Amendment was ratified, prohibiting laws that explicitly deny the right to vote on the basis of race.
* A black child born today is less likely to be raised by both parents than a black child born during slavery. The recent disintegration of the African American family is due in large part to the mass imprisonment of black fathers. |

http://www.dailycognition.com/index.php/2009/02/19/20-incredible-optical-illusions.html 20 Incredible Optical Illusions An optical illusion is always characterized by visually perceived images that, at least in common sense terms, are deceptive or misleading. Therefore, the information gathered by the eye is processed by the brain to give, on the face of it, a percept that does not tally with a physical measurement of the stimulus source. This is a list of twenty amazing illusions. |

And who knows what other demographic factors contribute. Education, other health factors, poverty etc Perceptual illusions are fantastic. The list above reminded me of the hollow face illusion: Good times. My undergrad thesis was related to visual perception, illusions, the auditory analogs of these illusions and whether simulaneously presented visual information could change the way we perceive sound. |

Team Coco strikes again.

A Conan O'Brien fan posed for a photo with Jay Leno last night with the letters "Coco FTW" written on his hand -- which means "for the win."
Leno got the "Tonight Show" back and Conan got $32.5 million from NBC -- they're both winners.
