Ahh... I forgot all about this thread. I meant to make a short little post, but completely forgot about it. It was to say:
String theory may be untestable (for a long time), but I can't help but wonder... "And God said 'let there be light,' and there was light". It's pretty readily visible in the world that waves propagate sound. When we speak, waves in the air ripple to carry our voices. When they say "string theory", it could just as easily be called "wave theory" (since they're not actual "strings", of course, and whenever a string vibrates, it moves in a wave pattern, so I assume that it got it's name because there are little tiny waves. It also sounded a bit like they were talking about waves, in that video, because they mentioned "really tiny dimensions" would make it really hard to move in that direction. That also happens when you do the math for Quantum waves, so I assume that's where they get that from).
The bible describes God's voice: "When the [many] creatures moved, I heard the sound of their wings, like the roar of rushing waters, like the voice of the Almighty, like the tumult of an army," and also that his Word both creates
and sustains Creation (though I'm not sure where that doctrine comes from, now that I think about it. Perhaps from "for in him we live, and move, and have our being," but I'm not sure). It makes me wonder whether God said "
Light!" and the light-strings burst forth, carrying his voice like the air carries ours, and spreading light throughout the universe.
Augustine knew that evil was the absence of good long before scientists ever discovered that darkness is the absence of light.... so I wish they would hurry up and figure out a reliable way to test this one. They might be 10,000-some years behind the times

.
I know, I know, I'm insane... you don't have to point it out. Sorry

. This is why I have a special interest in String Theory, though.
