Then you aren't considering Hitler's childhood....how he was raised, his experiences. Something in his life led him to believe that it was ok and even honorable to commit mass genocide....and let's face it, if Germany had won, he'd be considered a hero and ethnic cleansing acceptable. History is written by the winners. Regardless, it's possible that if children were not mistreated that monsters would not be created. I will concede that there are those that seem to be mentally warped somehow and nothing on earth would change their behavior.....and no one can police every child's life to maintain a conflict-free, fair, and happy environment anyway. There's no telling what can happen to completely traumatize a person at any given time. Expect the best, but plan for the worst I suppose.

"Conflict-free, fair, and happy environment" - that sounds terrifying. Or rather, it would be enjoyable, and then you'd enter the real world and be completely unable to handle anything, as an adult.
If I were raising a child, I'd make sure his life wasn't particularly easy, that he had to strive for more, that he was tough enough to handle anything (and more disciplined than me )

Hitler strikes me as a possible INTJ, or ENTJ. Trying to fix a broken world... in a somewhat simplistic manner. He has the feel of being young, proud, and not having fully developed his ideas yet, to me. Of not yet having enough experience to judge things well.

Hitler was a rather good artist, I think. If, of course, you believe he created them. He didn't get into arts school simply because he couldn't draw people; however, his architectural drawings were fantastic. He had a lot of potential. It makes you wonder...

Seems more S with a touch of the N mindset.

I can see the basic personality in those paintings though. To build something of quality, something great.

If there were a theme to the art I occasionally do, it would be beauty or structure from chaos

And this is why the world is so dangerous to ENFPs.....we *understand* people. We can't condemn anyone out of hand simply because of A or B deed.....yes, there's right and wrong, but somewhere there's a reason. And that reason isn't that people are born evil. That reason means that somehow there's a way to prevent evil deeds by altering certain events, establishing trustworthy role models, providing support systems and so on and so forth. Trouble is, we get involved to a degree beyond what we should....and the next thing you know, we've convinced ourselves that it's ok to help out this evil individual...if not with his evil deeds...but on a more social bonding level.... because his motives are good and we're a positive influence.

This is how male ENFPs end up getting suckered by 'damsels in distress.' >.> And why some ENFPs end up keeping toxic friends and other bad relationships....that glimmer of good we're programmed to see in all people.

I think eventually an ENFP will rid themselves of these negative connections....but it takes ALOT....especially if we trust them enough not to look for the telltale signs of manipulation and insincerity.

Well, there is logic behind most things - sometimes convoluted and defective logic.

Determining what is right is a complex thing.

I play a really good damsel in distress. Kinda strange. I just automatically befriend guys by being cutesy. Do any other ENFP gals do that?

And, I thought about this as I was working out yesterday, do ENFPs care more about their appearance? I am really focused on my appearance and it just gets in †he way of everything. I want to help people and bring peace to the world but I have to make sure my makeup looks good and my hair's all in the right place first.

I used to be all damsel in distressy....but I got angry at myself for playing the victim. >< I'm still all giggly and bubbly and cutesy sometimes, but I'm determined about doing things on my own....even when I probably should ask for help.
As for appearance, most of the time I don't care....then some days I have a compulsion to be pretty. I'll wear makeup. I'll put on jewelry. I'll flounce around in my best clothes. O.O It's so uncommon that one day I wore a pretty blue shirt with a sweetheart neckline and flowing sleeves....and my nephew..who was 3 at the time, asked if I was going to go dancing in the forest.

hehehe. Go dancing in the forest. That would be awesome!

I guess the whole obsession with looks is just a byproduct of our society and my upbringing. My mom still brags about how so-and-so was flirting with her, etc. in an attempt to regain her beauty. It's kind of sad and I don't want to grow into that. *shudders*

I would like to go dancing in the forest sometimes.... ^_^

And yea, it probably has to do alot with upbringing. I'm the youngest of 4 with 2 sisters....2 sisters that were obsessed with making me presentable. I was a tomboyish tree-climbing little girl, and my hair was unruly. My mother used to brush it into submission, and it HURT. My sisters would dress me up then make me sit still for an hour while they went at me with makeup and a curling iron. >.> My hair is thick and wavy and it does what it wants. For my oldest sister's wedding, it took 62 bobby pins and a half a can of hairspray to make the curls stay put. My sister-in-law even took me out shopping on several occasions....and every group of girlfriends I had in jr high and high school attempted makeovers on me. >< It's fun being the focus of attention every now and then, but I got sick of being everyone's dress up doll. Now it's my prerogative to pretty up. ^_^

No way a NT. He screwed up everything. Bad at diplomacy. Bad at military strategy. Lucky in politics and an amazing speaker. He took the most advanced society in the world and wrecked it. INFP would be my guess. Ever read Mein_Kampf? It is terrible. He was an idealist. Benito Mussolini, of whom I've read a biography was a fucking brilliant idealist, self taught, spoke 6 languages. Not sure what he is.

And this is why the world is so dangerous to ENFPs.....

agreed. Thats why the forums exist. There are a lot of ENFPs that need our help.

ENFPs care more about their appearance? I

I think that comes and goes in phases. To me we are the ESFPs of Ns. We are the hot extroverted fun of the Ns. BUT I think once we realize that the way we look can affect people we then dress in style. I didn't understand this until after my divorce and had to get in dating again.
