I have a psychology degree and my dream job would probably be some sort of counseling or social work. I worked as a houseparent in a home for teenagers with behavioral issues and loved it. Other jobs I had and loved were being a preschool teacher and working in the college admissions office, giving tours of the campus. I like to write too and would love to do that.  As a child I just wanted to be an actress....LOL

I am basically the same...only a few yrs behind you. I didnt decide till I was 20 that I wanted to go to school for Psychology, did it for 1 yr then left bc of not passing classes (i.e. Spanish...math)...and didn't have the money to pay to take a class then get back on funding. SO once I was 22 I decided to travel!

I am now a nanny in Australia (been here 1 1/2 months) and will be here through the end of the year! Then hopefully onto other countries, moving every 3 months or so(bought as long as I can be sane w/ one job!) Growing up I too wanted to be an actress, yet the first job I ever really felt a pull towards, was when I was young(prob under10 yrs) I wanted to be a social worker, working w/ kids to help them w/ problems and have a better life, fulfill all their dreams.

My dream job would be a combination of psychology, consulting, motivational speaker, an entrepranuer(I have a few small ideas...dunno..), tv host, get to travel, social worker and writer. I was up late(as usual w/ new ideas! Had to FORCE myself to go to sleep) and I was thinking that being  child/family Psychologist, I could have all those jobs rolled into one! Psychology is becoming largely more popular and sought after in all different sorts of arenas in life.

The only thing that holds me back is ever since I can remember I have wanted to be a stay at home mom. I have felt that raising children has always been my calling, and the years of schooling it would take for me to reach the level of success in Psychology I strive for, would put off what I feel like I was "put here" to do.....yet...I just got out of a 3 yr relationship...so I am no where near having a family....so do I travel till I'm burnt out on that (maybe still yrs away?) THEN go to school for 8 yrs? I feel like I would be way past everyone who is in the field...others my age having already moved onto grad school right now(that went to a 4yr straight away)....Yet at the same time....I am so excited bout the possibilities right now(and really wanna be back in school) that it makes me want to stop travelling....can you believe it?!?! STOP travelling?! When that is everyones ultimate goal.....

So so so so confused.....I am at a crossroads.

I'm studying for a degree in engineering. Not the boring kind, though, I want to be a fast-paced Consultant! Lots of travel, being a self-starter, going to interesting places and meeting interesting and intelligent people. Make good money, and not boring at all.

I would definitely not want to get shoehorned into being something like a draftsman just because of my degree, tho. That's why I want to go into a field like Civil or Environmental. That's more about implementation than design (although design is also important.)

Pardon my ENFPness, but I can't chose just one dream job, so I have chosen to do several because I'm in love with many, many things. The core of these things would/ and do involve: traveling the world, meeting people, creating art and doing what I love, and loving people to pieces to the very best of my ability.

I decided this too, recently. Some of it are: any way of helping people in search of themselves, art, and changing world idea by idea - i have so many ideas about what can be done on global level, and people consider me too idealistic when i talk about it like it WILL happen.. but i really think some of it will happen.
I am junkie for web sites from various organisations for encouraging creativity and potential in society.

Journalism. I'd love to freelance and travel from assignment to assignment. Never a dull moment and my subjects are always changing!

I have to:

1. Feel needed/appreciated
2. Have a comfortable, nonhostile environment (HARMONY)
3. Have fun
4. Have enough challenge not to get bored
5. Have enough change to keep from getting bored of the monotony
6. Not feel trapped

Money isn't as big of an issue, though I have to make enough to pay for the necessities but also have enough left over to afford my random, crazy, spontaneous urges.

When I was younger, I wanted to be an FBI agent. Hehe. That would be super duper kewl!!!

Yeah, alysaria, if I could find a job like that, I would be in heaven! That's why I think being a freelance journalist will be cool. I LOVE Hunter S. Thompson. Maybe I can be a gonzo journalist. Lol.

I saw earlier someone freaking out about the time it might take to become a psychologist. I have switched jobs enough times now, I'd say, Hey, as long as you're making ends meet during the training, enjoy the trip. I am starting to be still goal oriented, but also appreciate just how enjoyable the journey is, too.

I've been teaching college & training in stand-up comedy. I am having a blast, I feel like I'm learning tons; it's has ups and downs, but - wow- . I love the comedic writing involved, and the changes I see in myself. Even if it never works out (gettin' rich 'n' famous), it is a great experience.

i would love to have a job where i could go in undercover to different companys and spend as much time as i needed working in each dept getting a true feel for what needs to change to make it a more positive productive and efficient company...i guess i kinda want to be a chiropractor for corporations...oh but i dont want any paperwork i just want to let them know verbally what they need to do...or i would b happy having a jet ski stand on the beach and just talking to people all day and chillin in the sun..the dr's office i work for is always slammed.and our patients get irritated when they have to sit so long in the waiting room...i wish they would pay me to go out there and socialize..i'm really good at making very angry people happy... i guess if i think about every job i've had has been one of my dreams...they have all been centered around people..i guess thats all i need...oh yeah and again..no paperwork..ugh...

Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?' mlk jr

I think I want to be an artist now. Yes, that pleases Gaga.
