I noticed alyssaria said she could fit into her dress from high school, and I have stayed slim over the years, I know 2 female ENFPs who are slim. (and maybe one who isn't but has a medical condition that explains it). Is there some combination of interest in moving one's body (for instance, I love sports even if I'm only so-so at them, and dancing), plus an aesthetic sense, plus interest in the outside world, that adds up to staying slim?
Interested in knowing others' experience. |

My body type has nothing to do with sports or any activity whatsoever. I'm so lazy. Maybe it could be the fact that I'll get so caught up in stuff that I'll not realize I'm hungry until hours later.....but I snack like crazy. |

I've not gained or lost a pound in 5 years. And I'm only 21.
I don't know why but I'm not satisfied about it. I've tried everything to gain some weight, not that I'm unhealthy skinny, but I want to see myself as an adult some time now and I'd love to pass the 132 pound limit. |

I've been the same weight (minus while pregnant) since high school too, right around 125. I'm 5'6". I don't work out. I just seem to have a very stable metablism or something. That's interesting that other ENFP's are similar. The ENFP's I know are either thin or just a bit chubby but certainly not overweight. |

Sorry to bust bubbles on this one, but I'm not skinny. Not exactly fat, but at 5'6" and 150 lbs I'm not exactly a toothpick. |

I guess it depends how I am feeling emotionally. I've blown up to well over 200 pnds at 5'7'', but I wasnt really in a good place right after high school. for the most part I do Ohprah rollercoaster diet. I like to stay active: swiming/surfing wandering around or just whatever, because complancency is the devil. |

I imagine it's a mix of genetics and personality. I have a genetic predisposition for heaviness/obesity in my family-- it comes on very very easily and we are all heavy boned creatures (when I was a "toothpick", not a speck of extra fat on me I was 135 lbs on my 5'6'' frame). I have to fight tooth and nail just to maintain my weight. Currently I'm 155 lbs and I carry the weight well, but considering I watch my diet and swim 45 minutes a day 5 days a week and coach a cycling team... lol. Definitely genetics. |

I have never met a fat ENFP! I am ENFP, and I have always been skinny.. My diet at the present moment isn't exactly the most healthy.. My best mate is an ENFP, and he has always been skinny.. I think it's got something to do with the fact that we have such an energetic personality! |

I was very slim until one winter when I was maybe 11 or 12... Since then I've always had some extra padding. It really depends on how active I am. At the moment I'm 6' tall and about 213lbs. I think my chub has been a product of my obsession with the culinary arts. I cook 7 days a week, and rarely have leftovers! However when I diet I have no problem shedding 20-30 lbs in about 3 months or so with a moderate amount of excersize. I do spend a decent amount of time in the gym though so its not all jiggly! |

A bit of body fat never hurt anyone.. I have met ENFPs who have a little bit of body chub, but none of which were any definition of fat! But, I think because of the amount of energy an ENFP has, they convert this mental energy easily into physical energy, hence the burning of fat isn't as bad.. I think our personalities may also be somewhat linked to our involuntary functions, like metabolism.. Don't quote me on that one, but I really wouldn't be surprised.. Anyone know about that? |

I'm 5'9" and weigh 130 lbs. I have weighed the same since I was 15 and I'm 28 now!!! I don't do anything particularly physical, beyond the basics like hiking, dancing every now and then, and walking. Not sure it has much to do with my personality type as it does with genetics?? My mom is skinny and she's 60. |

i used to be quite fat (5"8' and 245lbs), but i put that down to living at home, which was a draining environment for me, and genetics (no one in my immediate family is skinny, and the men are solid and muscular rather than skinny). Once i moved away i dropped 65-70lbs in about 8 months, combination of better diet and being far more active. I still put on weight if i go through a period of inactivity (ie if i'm feeling down for an extended period) but then drop it again once i get back to normal. I'm 200lbs at the moment, which is a bit more than i want to be but i have a fairly solid build so i am not "fat" (slightly overweight, yes). |

i was an overweight ENFP for a lot of years. Started running in about 2004 as a way to deal with depression and what I eventually learned was OCD. One thing replaced the other. I now obsess over a few things, but instead of obsessing over money or whether or not I said something stupid, I obsess over getting my five miles in. Have run 5 full marathons, a half, an ultra (34 miles), and a pile of little 5 and 10ks...Am now wearing smaller sizes than I wore in high school--my letterman's jacket fits every bit as well as it did in 1986! |

I just find it facinating how when ENFPs get passionate about something, they can really DO it! Simply because they are obsessed!! So if an ENFP is obsessed with weight-loss, it comes like a breeze.. |
