>.> Ok...so the ENFP is typically pretty easy-going and pleasant.....we're live-and-let-live. We value other people's opinions. But let's all just come out and admit right now that regardless of this seeming passivity, we're RIDICULOUSLY stubborn. Someone opens their mouth and utters a phrase an ENFP doesn't agree with...and BAM! The heels dig in and you'd have better luck convincing the tide to stop than trying to get the ENFP to change their mind. Frankly, I think it's the direct result of our own point of view being invalidated by another person - it can be something simple. For example, I hate spinach - I've always hated spinach, and when I was younger, my mother told me I'd grow out of my dislike of spinach. Perhaps I would have, but challenging me like that has guaranteed that I still am repulsed by it in every form.

I had this occur to me during lunch today - lasagna with spinach...and it inspired me to post....and to encourage the other ENFPs to admit it. ADMIT IT! You're just as stubborn and bull-headed about certain things too!

I am horribly, horribly stubborn. I rarely give in, although I do have friends that are more stubborn than me, causing me to give in first!

we're RIDICULOUSLY stubborn.

I think everyone is to a certain extent. No one wants to be told a basic truth about life that we hold is wrong and we have been doing something wrong.

Like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_excluded_middle no one wants to be told that the law of the excluded middle is wrong.

I think Js are more stubborn

I think everyone is stubborn to a certain extent.

yeah I don't relate to this much. I don't think ENFPs are stubborn and I haven't read anything to suggest that they are. It certainly is a personality trait but I'm not convinced it is one that should be ascribed to the ENFP personality.

>.> suppose it relates to enneagram too.....I'm a 7, so I'm just disagreeable about authority. Then again, I've seen other ENFPs not necessarily be vocally stubborn, but lock up and shut down to outlast the opposing force.

Oh yeah I definitely have an anti-authoritarian streak, especially when it comes to bureaucracy and red tape.  But in personal relationships, I usually want others to like me and will seek out terms we can agree on.  but yeah, when it comes to authority figures or those asserting power, I am pretty disagreeable.
