So... totally random and nerdy, but I was wondering if people have some favorite words and if so what are they?
Some of my favorites:
hubris, ennui, extemporaneous, asseverate, lurk, troll, capricious, diabolical |

Lots of interesting words here. How do you choose?? Hubris, ennui, and capricious are, by the way, great choices, as is lurk - I also like skulk as an alternative. How about curmudgeon, obsequious, elucidate, specious, jerry-rigged ( yeah, it's a hybrid, but it's the variation my grandpa used ). |

mori - the word for forrest in japanese. hard to describe english-wise.. more-ee but the tongue is half L and half D. It fascinates me because its just so..unnatural to me, but when i hear it pronounced it sounds so congruent. |

Pwned = yes, totally intellectual. It's actually one of the nerdiest words ever.
Ooo! I really like "obsequious" It kind of feels like the word "beseech," which I also like for some reason.
I kind of really like words that roll strangely off the tongue...Like foreboding and twilight.
And it might be the INTJ in me, but I really like the word misanthropic.
Nadette, those are some awesome words. And the first link is hilarious!...it might or might not have made me dance... The second one made me think of this one segment, which I absolutely agree with Lily on.

I love the word serendipitous/serendipity. It totally reminds me of my favorite ice cream place in NYC.....mmmm, I'm soooo dreaming of frozen hot chocolate right now
Have you heard the song "Sweet Serendipity"?
Gosh, I've gotta think of my favorite words now....I'm so indecisive that determining a favorite of ANYTHING is near impossible. If it were words I say entirely too much I'd have to go with "seriously?!" and "literally". But they're not favorit words, just canned responses. |

My favorite words fluctuate like no tomorrow. For example, I've used "like no tomorrow" frequently the last three days. |

Oooh, I also really love the word "expedition" or expeditiously." I hate it when one says "ASAP". Like, "I need you do to this ASAP." It makes me really mad and not want to do it because my logic is that if you can't even take the time to spell out "as soon as possible" then you don't deserve me to do it more quickly for you. And expedition/expeditiously is such a nicer word! |
