....lack of trust from those closest to you to help them out of a tight spot is one of the few things guaranteed to hurt your feelings.

Interesting observation. I'm not sure this should be able to happen normally. I think I'm more likely to kick the idiot in the butt who suggests something like this (in humor - this does not seem like something that should be coming as a serious opinion from someone)

>.> My INTJ friend has an ENFP brother who came to me when he had questions about a girl he thought he was dating....but was really playing the sympathy card and taking advantage of him. The INTJ was extremely hurt that his brother couldn't tell him about the situation....and had in fact told his brothers that if they ever needed anything, they could tell him.

.....I have an INTJ brother who pretty much told me the same....and while I have trouble sharing my troubles with anyone and wish to take care of them myself, I could see it hurting his feelings too if I ever found myself in over my head and didn't tell him.

"I'm capable....you know I would go to any length to help you out....why would you keep something like this from me?"

me too! ok, here's my bit.

You know that you are an INTJ when ...

...yow know precisely how much time take daily activities like brushing teeth, shower, the time it takes to get to the park by foot.

.. you move to live near your office so that you get from your bed to your desk in four minutes.

.. you extensively research anything that seems to work in a proper manner.

.. you go to enfprofum.com to see what a perfect mate would express herself. Impressive.

.. you can't stop thinking even if you want to. You are alone and you are thinking. You are walking your dog and you are thinking. Someone is talking to you and you still think about something related to what he said two five sentences ago.

.. you have trouble expressing your feelings and are generally laconic although concise.

.. you adore making plans and feel great when you resolve to follow them.

.. you view jobs as learning experiences that enhance your capabilities and shape your character.

.. you easily perceive possible sequences of events and are hard to surprise.

.. you are so pragmatic that other people feel pain when they think about it.

.. your best pals are ENTJs and you generally feel good around most other Rationals (NTs)

.. you are almost never late for your appointments. You prefer to wait rather to be waited for.

.. you have extreme dating issues! Mates must comply with a long list of requirements. In the end, they begin to perceive you as distant and reserved.

.. with time you get more and more ordered. A place for everything and everything in its place flashes through your head each  time when you don't see the scissors where they belong. So you go to your roommate's room and fetch them.

.. you hardly ever lose anything.

.. you know your limits. You know whether you can finish a certain job in a certain time frame. Because you know your stuff.

well. As an introvert I never thought that I'd submit a 1k post in a forum at 02:22 AM ..

p.s.: anyone from Bulgaria?

whatever you are, be a good one.

You've never read a romance novel in your entire life, but you know the plot to almost all of them your ENFP friend has ever read....and it makes you hate your near perfect memory....and your inability to tell an ENFP friend to shut up. ^_^

This is not completely true. I actually wrote my senior project for college on this topic. It was quite fascinating but pretty ridiculous for me to be reading the crap. But it was on represented gender roles as indicative and foreshadowing of progressive culture shifts in gender relations.

You know you are an INTJ when you have read romance novels for that reason....

...you do something careless, like leave the oven on or the door unlocked....and when confronted about it, immediately (and greatly affronted by such an accusation) you deny it, even if the other person observed your carelessness firsthand.

Hahahaha! Hangs head in shame. The older I get the less confrontational I get, but this is definitely something this INTJ, for example, has had/has to work on!

I am going to start call all the negative parts of being an INTJ being a "Recovering INTJ." No matter how much I work on it, there are always certain parts of me that will be second nature and have to be worked on. Like I will always have to force myself out of my comfort zone every now and then and "loosen up" and work on the negative aspect of the "Judging" function. Being an INTJ is awesome, afterall, but it is/I am not perfect.

This thread is just amazing. Precise observations. I couldn't resist making an account here after reading some posts here.
About Twilight:
I read twilight because I thought it would give me some (silly) topics to talk about in a social situation, instead staring at people awkwardly.

I feel that my interests/hobbies should have some meaning. Like some of you guys I find Geology, Computers, Psychology, Human Physiology quite intriguing. So I signed up for Geology(which my mother was pretty much up against), but later she pointed out that it doesn't pay that well. So I took computer engineering and I am planning to do Geology later instead of doing the conventional MBA.
I also thought about making the most of my mind AND body. I have developed an interest in Mountaineering. To prepare myself for mountaineering I thought about cycling. First I gathered lots of information regarding its physiological effects(which further developed my interest in Human Physiology ). I love to go for long solo rides and think about things.
Mountaineering can also be an added advantage for a Geologist.
So basically I have tried to connect things which I find meaningful and keep myself motivated by having a lage field of interests.

That's not quite a reversal. Try "In Soviet Russia, Stephanie Meyer tries to bedazzle the KGB with Twilight but gets shot before she can publish the filthy, filthy vampire porn it is."

You are an INTJ when...

-You consider going to the supermarket a social gathering.
-You stop listening to people after 30 seconds if they haven't reached their point.
-When someone talks, you think about how they could condense their statements and reach their point faster.
-You think you could improve every facet of the world if given the resources.
-You have been called arrogant by nearly every person who knows you.
-You aren't arrogant. Really. People just don't understand your brilliance.
-You tell a joke and wonder why you're the only one laughing.
-You consider yourself a man or woman of science without a degree in any scientific field.

you consider vigorous debate an acceptable form of communication in any setting.
you have the irresistible urge to point out flaws in anyone's logic.

...your humor is so dry it becomes a game to see how long you can keep your joke going and how absurd you can make it before the other person realizes everything you have said for the last five minutes is sarcastic BS.

...somebody laughes at a joke you told and your immediate reaction is "what are you laughing at?" because nobody ever gets your jokes.

Petroleum geology is not a low paying job, since the start of the recent oil booms down here in texas starting salary average has gone into the six figure range. you would also want to possibly minor in geophysics, as seismic and other methods are extensively used to build models.
hehe, yes i just joined to point that out on an old post
