There was a thread like this at another mbti forum, but it wasn't about ENFP. Even so, I like the idea, so lets share what we would name our kids/have named them... and why we like the names.
Boys: I like Irish names. A big part of my dad's family is Irish, so names like:
Ian
Liam
Lucas
Tristan (OK, not celtic... but I still like it!)
Joachim
Leon
Girls: for girls I tend to like names with historical attachments. Also names that start with "R" and "S" for some reason .
Rhea
Sasha
Nicole
Rachael
Roxanne
Katie
Zoe
Unisex:
place names (Sydney, London, etc)
Casey
Leslie
Jordan
How about you guys ?

Hey alysaria, nice names, but none of the names you mentioned are Swedish. You might have been talking about other Swedish names you didn't list?
(Are NTs allowed to list names they like too?) |

Well, my daughter's name is Awen Iliana. Awen is Welsh. My deceased father was Welsh in heritage, not born in Wales or anything. It means "Divine Inspiration" or "Muse".
From Wikipedia:
Awen is a Welsh word for "(poetic) inspiration". It is historically used to describe the divine inspiration of bards in the Welsh poetic tradition. Someone who is inspired, as a poet or a soothsayer, is an awenydd.
In current usage, awen is sometimes ascribed to musicians and poets, but the word has mostly come to be used as a female given name.
Her middle name is Greek. I have some Greek ancestry. It means "bright".
If I have another girl her name will be Antoinette Iola. Antoinette sounds beautiful and classic and Iola was my great grandmother's name.
If I ever have a boy his name will be Jude. Not sure about middle name. Jude because my favorite Beatles song is "Hey Jude" and I just love the sound of it.

The name Dahlia is a name of a flower named after a Swedish botanist (Dahl, a common Scandinavian last name,) but the origin of the name is latin. It's not a common Swedish name, there are only 83 women with Dahlia registered as a first name in Sweden. After Googling, it seems to be more popular in Latin America for some reason.

Anna, Emma, Linnea, Sara, Elin are other popular Swedish names. (Linnea is another flower name.)

I'm sorry for being so INTJ about the baby names alysaria. Didn't mean to piss you off... And the sentence about popular Swedish names were meant to list names that were popular in Sweden. I don't know about their origin, but Sara being Hebrew sounds about right |

Girls:
Aria
I have two names. One for boys; my own. I'd like to name my kid Theodore. It'd be great having a third line of Ted in the family
And for girls, Aria. I was surprised to see alysaria's choice of Aria... I've never seen it anywhere else
Those are my two names. I try not to think about it because I know if I wed and have children, the woman will want to give names more than I.
That's all I got;
Ted. |
