What band did you listen to when you were a Teen?

*When* I *was* a teen? Hey - not all of us are old folks around here

I listen to a mix of classic rock (harking back to the days of aerosmith) and Brazilian lounge music (Brazilian ladies have sexy, sexy voices ). I especially like early rock that shows its roots in jazz, blues and latin - Billy Joel is pretty damn good. I listen to a lot of modern stuff too, but I'm rather musically picky - three hours of various music tuition for seven years will do that to you

The Deepest Blue
Ridiculously long signature:
The name's Blue - The Deepest Blue. But you can call me Gary ;-)
I like smilies - could you tell?
I'm a recovering teenager. Please excuse the angst.

I'm 17 right now and I cannot stand the music that's popular these days. Rap, country, and even some rock (Nickelback) make my ears bleed, but hey that's just my opinion. I listen to a lot of classic rock, quite a bit of punk, and lately I've really been on a ska kick. Ska has that upbeat feel to it that I just love to waking up too. For those who have never heard ska here are few examples:

I also listen to quite a bit of funk, namely Jimi Hendrix and The Red Hot Chili Peppers

Kind of, well definitely, a teen now. And as one of those kids who fell in love with classical music (from playing piano and violin) as a youngster, I'm quite obsessed with Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Mozart…Besides that, I love classic rock. Real Pink Floyd fan, and I’ll fight anyone who doesn’t love the Division Bell album as much as The Wall. The Stones, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac (!), the Eagles, Elton John, Billy Joel, Boston, Led Zeppelin. As far as contemporary music goes, I’m a huge Muse fan, along with the Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, the Shins, the Notwist, Reel Big Fish. Anything with a good beat, from there it just amounts to matching my moods. I'll listen to and like almost everything...yes, even pop.

And I thought, and still think, that Lady Gaga is legit, to use my generation's venacular.

Marilyn Manson, Nirvana, and metal - stuff like Lacuna Coil, HIM, etc. Gross. (except Nirvana - I still kind of like Nirvana.)
Later: all kinds of goth stuff. Also, some punk rock, post-punk, some angry EBM and all kinds of electronica.
Then there was that period when I actually despised any kind of happy music.

Now I listen to Tool and A Perfect Circle, except that I don't really listen to them, more like just think about listening to them.

Ah, back in the good old days, I listened and still listen to a big cluster f&*#of music. I liked/like electronica (Benny Bennasi, Dj Tiesto, Moby, Fischerspooner, etc.), Classic Rock (The Who, Jimi Hendrix, I LOVE the Floyd, Bob Dylan, etc.), old Country NOT NEW (John Prine, Willy Nelson, etc.), Alternative from the 90's and early 00's (Everclear, Weezer, Blind Melon, Nirvana, etc.), Punk (Lagwagon, The Sex Pistols, Ramones, MXPX...)... the list goes on and on and on. Listen to a small, very small amount of rap.

Older stuff and latin stuff is super kewl as well. Bunches more I could mention but it would take forever.

Peace.
